Experience:

• have experience with mobile development platforms (iOS/Objective C, Android/Java, etc.)
• have experience creating and integrating API's

Skills:

• have comfort with developing and deploying large scalable systems
• have awesome coding skills - we mean it :)
• have intimate familiarity with design patterns and database management  

Education: 

• A degree in Computer Science or Engineering from a top school is good to have, but a wonderful project list trumps all:
